This is Your Opportunity to Reconnect with Nature
West Virginia Style

From historic lodging and regenerative farming to traditional skills from our Appalachian heritage, conservation, hiking, falconry, educational programs, and unforgettable West Virginia mountain experiences, our mission is to inspire people to slow down, reconnect with nature, and discover the simple joys of mountain life.

Live Simply. Learn Naturally. This is Mountain Life WV!

It's a family Thing!

Meet the Waybrights!

What you experience here isn't staged or scripted, it's simply who we are. We welcome guests into our daily lives with genuine warmth, inviting them to experience a real working farm, authentic family traditions, and meaningful connections with both people and animals. Every visit is unique because every day on the farm is unique, creating memories that are as genuine as the people who call this place home.

The Waybright family is a multi-generational West Virginia family dedicated to preserving Appalachian traditions through education, agriculture, conservation, and hospitality. Together, they operate Laurel Fork FarmLaurel River Club Bed & Breakfast, and work alongside the West Virginia School of Traditional Skills to provide immersive, hands-on experiences that connect people with nature, sustainable farming, wildlife, and the rich heritage of the Mountain State.

Each member of the Waybright family brings unique talents,  from regenerative farming and traditional skills to falconry, outdoor education, artisan crafts, and hospitality creating unforgettable experiences for visitors from around the world. Our mission is simple: to share authentic West Virginia hospitality while inspiring others to reconnect with the land, one another, and the traditions that make Appalachia unique.

But our story isn't just about the Waybright family. We believe that strong communities are built when people help one another succeed. That's why we actively seek out and encourage fellow West Virginia entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers, and makers, inviting them to become part of the extended family we are building through collaboration. Every business brings its own unique thread, strengthening the fabric of our community.

While we grow, harvest, serve, and teach many traditional skills ourselves, we also recognize that we can't, and shouldn't, do everything alone. We proudly feature locally crafted products alongside our own. For example, while we grow and teach about a variety of herbs and teas, we also stock handcrafted tea blends from neighboring farms in our gift shop. The honey served and sold at our farm comes from local beekeepers that place hives on our farm who share our commitment to quality, allowing them to focus on the bees while we focus on the experiences we do best.

By supporting one another instead of competing, we've created an ecosystem where farms, small businesses, educators, artisans, and guests all benefit. Together, we're cultivating more than great products and memorable experiences we're building stronger communities, creating opportunities for rural entrepreneurs, and preserving the welcoming, family-centered spirit that makes West Virginia such a special place.
